As a childcare assistant, you help create a safe and fun environment where children can develop, play, and learn. You work closely with and support preschool teachers and childcare workers to drive the educational work at the preschool – always with the children's best interests in focus.

The position is needs-based, which means you step in when regular staff are absent, sometimes with short notice on the same day. You enter your availability through the booking system Medvind.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed secondary education
• Has experience working with children
• Is curious, flexible, and good at collaborating
• Can take initiative but is also attentive and adaptable based on the work at the preschool
• Can step in at short notice when needed
• Has a driver's license and access to a car – you need to be able to travel to different preschools in the municipality
• It is an advantage if you have some form of healthcare education or training/experience in diabetes
• Can communicate well in Swedish

The most important thing is that you have the right attitude and value a respectful and warm approach towards both children and adults. Your contribution as a substitute is important in our preschools!

The employment is a needs-based position with hourly pay.

We work with ongoing selection and interviews.

Since you will be working with children and young people, you must provide a criminal record extract before employment. You can apply for the extract digitally on the police's website.

The Department of Children and Education is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and can be their best. The department's mission is to coordinate, plan, and support the various operations and work for coordination between school and working life.

The staffing unit in the Department of Children and Education consists of a unit manager, administrators, childcare workers, preschool teachers, and childcare assistants. We staff the preschools as needed for both short-term and long-term substitutes during regular staff absence or if a temporary need arises.
